San Francisco, CA - Garritano Group is very pleased to announce that agency principal and Executive Creative Director Steve Penn has been elected to the Board of Governors of the ECHO Academy of Direct Marketing Arts & Sciences. Penn will serve in this position for the next three years.

The ECHO Awards are known as the “Oscars” of the direct/digital marketing industry and recognize the combination of a winning strategy, brilliant creative and outstanding results. Winners are selected based on their cumulative scores from each area.

As a member of the Board, Penn is part of an international leadership team that works with the ECHO Awards Program Director and is charged with nurturing and guiding the vision, purpose, judging structure and presentation of the ECHO Awards.

“I was pleasantly surprised to hear I had been nominated last spring,” said Penn. “But when I got the news I had been elected by my peers to this esteemed position, I was quite humbled and honored. I’m joining some incredibly talented company, both agency and client side, from around the world and I look forward to making them proud of their decision to have me join their ranks.”

For the past 15 years, Penn has been active as an ECHO judge, ECHO winner and, most recently, also currently serves as an ECHO Ambassador for Minnesota.
